A highly influential Native American jeweler during the 20th century,[1] Loloma popularized use of gold and gemstones not previously used in Hopi jewelry. He also worked in pottery, painting and ceramics. Despite the demands of full time teaching, he continued working on his jewelry, and in 1963, had a very successful Paris show. He also created beautiful pen-and-ink abstract drawings of landscape and katsina figures.
